3 Matches That Can Be Added In Tonight’s Episode Of WWE Raw – 04th December 2023

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The latest episode of WWE Raw airs live tonight on December 4th, 2023. With the Royal Rumble coming up in January, tensions are high between rival wrestlers and tag teams heading into the new year.

WWE has already announced six exciting matches set to take place on Raw tonight, including top stars like Becky Lynch, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and more. However, there is always the possibility of additional bouts being added to the card to continue ongoing storylines. Here we look at three intriguing matchups that we may see on tonight’s program.

The three-hour flagship WWE show promises to be action-packed as always. In the opening segment, we will likely see an update on the tag team championship situation. Currently, The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest hold the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. Still, there has been talk of WWE splitting the titles back into separate Raw and SmackDown tag team championships.

The Street Profits Could Get Another Title Shot: One tag team matchup we may witness tonight is Finn Balor and Damian Priest defending against former champions Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford of the Street Profits. Last week on SmackDown, the Street Profits challenged the Judgment Day duo for the gold but came up short thanks to interference from Rhea Ripley.

Given the controversial finish, the Street Profits could demand another championship opportunity on Raw. While the menacing Judgment Day faction won’t want to give them one, the Profits could end up earning a rematch after last week’s disputed ending.

There is also chatter backstage about the Creed Brothers earning a future tag title shot for being the number one contenders. So even if the Street Profits face Balor and Priest again, it may end up being part of a multi-team championship feud heading into 2024 and the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes Could Call Out Shinsuke Nakamura: In singles action, one match likely to be made official for tonight is Cody Rhodes versus Shinsuke Nakamura. The two popular veterans have begun a heated rivalry over the past couple of weeks. It escalated last week when Nakamura shockingly assaulted Rhodes during a backstage interview segment on SmackDown.

The unprovoked attack left the beloved three-time Intercontinental Champion laying. As a result, WWE announced that Rhodes will respond to Nakamura’s ambush tonight on Raw. This sets up the perfect opportunity for the American Nightmare to call out the King of Strong Style and demand a one-on-one match.

With Nakamura currently performing as a villainous character, he will probably refuse and continue ducking Rhodes. However, this could prompt Rhodes to attack Nakamura backstage the same way he was ambushed last week. Either way, expect tensions between the two to be further intensified on the Raw broadcast as their new rivalry kicks into high gear.

CM Punk’s In-Ring Return Could Lead To A Match With Gunther: Lastly, in what would undoubtedly be an enormous moment, there is speculation that former AEW star CM Punk could appear and wrestle on tonight’s Raw. Punk made his shocking WWE return at last month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view when he entered the men’s WarGames match as a mystery partner on Team Brawling Brutes.

Now, rumor has it that WWE officials are working on a deal to sign Punk back to an active roster contract. So it is possible we could witness Punk showing up on Raw tonight for a special appearance and segment. This would allow Punk to formally announce he is back with WWE full-time.

If the Second City Saint does indeed confirm his WWE return tonight, it could set up a blockbuster first feud program against dominant Intercontinental Champion Gunther. While Punk is addressing the fans about his comeback, Gunther and Imperium could interrupt and beat down Punk as a show of disrespect. This cheap shot could give Punk a reason to challenge the Ring General to a high-stakes championship match at Royal Rumble.

As always, plenty of drama and action is guaranteed for WWE’s flagship program tonight. Whether these speculated bouts come to fruition or not, Raw is sure to deliver intensity and chaos while advancing storylines on the Road to WrestleMania. Tune in at 8/7c on USA Network to catch all the excitement!
