Big Show reveals crazy diet habits during peak WWE years

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Paul Wight, better known as the ‘Big Show’ in WWE, was not only known for his towering height but also for his enormous size during his wrestling tenure. At his peak, he weighed an astounding 504 pounds and clinched the world championship an impressive seven times.

However, what truly stood out was his jaw-dropping diet, which he recently revealed during a talkSPORT interview.

Big Show reveals crazy diet during peak WWE days

Wight confessed that he used to consume an astonishing 18,000 calories a day, consisting of a variety of unhealthy food choices. His meals included multiple Big Macs, a handful of fries, shakes, apple pies, and even up to five sandwiches in one sitting. Not stopping there, he would then head to Taco Bell and devour around 20 tacos. This excessive consumption, while a possibility during his younger days, eventually took a toll on his body as he got older:

“So I’d probably say somewhere between 13-18,000 calories a day,’ says Wight. ‘I’d get three or four Big Macs and then I’d get fries and then I’d get a shake and I’d get apple pies and probably a fifth sandwich too. It was nothing. I’d go to Taco Bell and get like 20 tacos.”

Reflecting on his past eating habits, Wight recognized that such an unrestricted diet was feasible in his youth, considering his size and athleticism. However, with age comes wisdom, and he came to the realization that he needed to make significant changes in his lifestyle.

Thankfully, in recent years, Wight has undergone a remarkable transformation, shedding around 130 pounds to improve his health and fitness. Now working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under his real name, he has adopted a more balanced and healthier approach to eating.

He no longer indulges in excessive calories but rather follows a streamlined diet. Wight revealed that he now consumes approximately 10 ounces of protein, a small portion of carbohydrates, and includes some vegetables in his meals. He strives to eat in a way that supports his well-being, opting for more nutritious choices and steering away from the empty bad calories he used to consume.

Throughout his over two-decade-long career as the World’s Largest Athlete, Wight has faced numerous challenges, including managing his diet and weight. However, his determination and commitment to leading a healthier lifestyle have made him a role model for those striving to make positive changes in their own lives.
