1 years ago By Sports Desk

In a surprising turn of events during his visit to Hyderabad, India, for WWE Superstar Spectacle, legendary WWE Superstar John Cena made a statement that sent shockwaves through the wrestling world. Cena, often hailed as the “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) by fans and peers, openly declared Roman Reigns as ‘The Greatest of All Time.’

Cena’s legacy in WWE is undeniable. For over a decade, he was the face of the company, achieving unparalleled success and becoming a symbol of WWE’s excellence. His 16 World Championships and numerous accolades solidified his status as a wrestling legend.

However, the wrestling landscape is ever-evolving, and new stars rise to prominence. Roman Reigns, the current Universal Champion, has been on a path of dominance and transformation that has earned him the respect and admiration of fans and fellow Superstars alike.

During a media interaction before WWE Superstar Spectacle, Cena was asked by Sportskeeda reporter if he considered Roman Reigns as his rightful successor in WWE. Cena’s response was swift and profound:

In my perspective, I think Roman Reigns is the greatest of all time.

This declaration from Cena is significant as it symbolizes a changing of the guard in WWE. It signifies that Cena acknowledges Reigns’ ascent to the pinnacle of the wrestling world and his status as a defining figure in WWE history.

Cena also took the opportunity to convey his appreciation to WWE fans in India, recognizing their unwavering support:

“Thank you all for being here en masse. It really means a lot to WWE, those of you who watch WWE programming, I mentioned on TV last week how important being here is to me.”

Reflecting on his remarkable 20+ year career in WWE, Cena shared his thoughts about performing in India, emphasizing the magnitude of the moment:

“It’s the first time I’ve had to come and wrestle a match in my 20-year career in WWE. I came on a goodwill tour back in 2006 and I was overwhelmed with the passion of the fan base here in India. So it’s a pleasure to be back and truly a monumental moment for me to be able to perform for the WWE Universe here in India tonight.”

John Cena’s return to WWE and his debut match in India mark a historic occasion for both him and the Indian WWE fanbase. Alongside Seth Rollins, Cena will take on Imperium members Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, promising a must-see match for fans around the world.

Superstar Spectacle boasts an impressive lineup of WWE Superstars, including Rhea Ripley, Natalya, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens, making it a memorable event for the WWE Universe in India and beyond. Cena’s declaration further solidifies Roman Reigns’ status as one of the preeminent figures in WWE history, while also acknowledging the evolution of the wrestling landscape.
