Cody Rhodes Acknowledges his Former WWE rival Matt Cardona fka Zack Ryder with a Short Message for his recent stint in GCW.

Cody Rhodes Applauds Former WWE Foe with Brief Message

Cody Rhodes, a prominent figure in WWE currently, wasn’t always in this position. He used to be a rival of another wrestler. Cody, who used to be part of AEW’s executive team, has climbed to a significant role in the company’s main events since his comeback. This return occurred after Matt Cardona (previously known as Zack Ryder) was let go.

Hints of a Comeback by Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona has been giving indications that he might come back for several months now. His wife, Chelsea Green, rejoined the company earlier this year. During this time, he’s been gaining recognition as “The Indy God” on the independent wrestling circuit.

A recent noteworthy event happened when Cardona and Steph De Lander entered GCW Homecoming 2023. They paid tribute to The Ghostbusters. What’s more, Cardona dressed up in an outfit claiming they were “Deathmatch Busters.” This move caught attention, and many took notice.

Cody Rhodes Reacts to Former Rival’s Performance

Cody Rhodes shared his thoughts about his former rival’s entrance in just three words. He tweeted, “Man, he’s good,” along with the video of the entrance.

Could Matt Cardona Rejoin WWE?

Recently, Matt Cardona tweeted that he hoped Edge wouldn’t retire on SmackDown in Toronto the previous week. The reason was that Cardona wanted the legendary wrestler to wait for his return. This has caused a lot of talk in the wrestling world, speculating about a possible way for Cardona to make a comeback to WWE.

Back when he was known as Zack Ryder, he was part of WWE for more than ten years and became quite popular among the roster. However, he was released in 2020. Similar to Cody Rhodes, who left WWE in 2016, Cardona has chosen to seize the opportunities available to him and ensure he remains in the headlines wherever he performs.

Given his growing popularity, WWE might consider bringing Cardona back into the fold. It could only be a matter of time before he gets that call and makes his “homecoming.”
