IYO Sky Sets To Defend Her WWE Women’s Championship Against Asuka At WWE Smackdown

1 years ago By Sports Desk

WWE SmackDown has always been a source of thrilling action and gripping storylines. This time around, the latest episode of SmackDown delivered an announcement that’s got fans on the edge of their seats. IYO SKY, the current WWE Women’s Champion, will be going toe-to-toe with Asuka, the formidable “Empress of Tomorrow.”

While Asuka’s prowess in the ring is undisputed, she had yet to reclaim her rematch since losing the title to Bianca Belair in a memorable bout at SummerSlam. The turn of events after the Triple Threat match was something no one saw coming. IYO SKY, also known as “The Genius of the Sky,” stunned the WWE universe by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract, seizing the championship title for herself.

However, SmackDown this week saw an unexpected twist during the Damage CTRL’s tag team face-off against Charlotte Flair and Shotzi. Asuka made a sudden and dramatic return, altering the match’s outcome and ensuring a loss for Bayley and IYO. This surprise appearance set the stage for a tension-filled confrontation between Asuka and IYO SKY. While their rivalry has been brewing for a while now, this will be the first time these two superstars lock horns in a match that will be broadcast on WWE TV.

But, it wasn’t just Asuka’s return that caused a stir. The “Empress of Tomorrow” boldly took the WWE Women’s Championship belt from Dakota Kai, placing it assertively on the mat, symbolically challenging IYO SKY to defend her title. Accepting the challenge, IYO SKY later confirmed during a backstage segment that she’s ready to face Asuka.

The climax of the night was the confirmation of the much-anticipated match. In a fortnight, fans around the world will tune in to see IYO SKY defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka on SmackDown. The anticipation is palpable, as both superstars have demonstrated exceptional skill and passion in the ring. The WWE universe is abuzz with speculation and predictions. Will Asuka reclaim her lost glory? Or will IYO SKY continue her reign as the Women’s Champion? One thing is for sure; when the bell rings, it will be an unforgettable showdown, and only one can emerge as the champion.
