John Cena’s WWE Return Confirmed For Next Month

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Former world champion John Cena is making his return to WWE next month. The wrestling promotion announced this on Monday.

Upcoming SmackDown Appearance

Cena is set to appear in the ring during the first episode of next month’s SmackDown. This episode will take place on September 1 at The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Involvement in WWE Superstar Spectacle

John Cena will also be a part of WWE Superstar Spectacle, a live event scheduled for September 8 in India. This event will be held at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

Cena’s Excitement for Indian Fans

Expressing his excitement, Cena shared, “Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on Smackdown! Especially excited to meet the WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the first time in India. The time is now. C U all very soon! WWE, WWE India.”

Recent WWE Appearances

Cena’s last WWE appearance was a surprise participation in the Money in the Bank event at The O2 Arena in July. He was also part of the WrestleMania lineup in April, where he competed for the United States Championship against Austin Theory.

Cena’s Thoughts on Wrestling Return

Cena mentioned that he misses being part of WWE regularly and shared his respect for veterans like Eddie Guerrero who always aimed to give their best in the ring. Cena acknowledged that he can’t physically keep up as he used to.

Surprise Announcement for Superstar Spectacle

WWE had previously announced the date for Superstar Spectacle, with speculations about notable participants. However, the unexpected return of John Cena, a 16-time World Champion, came as a big surprise. The upcoming Superstar Spectacle event in Hyderabad next month will signify WWE’s return to performing live in India after the last show in 2017 at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, though it won’t be broadcasted in America. The event aims to showcase wrestling talent and excitement to the Indian audience, having been televised there before.
