KSI vs. Tommy Fury Doesn’t Have Rehydration Clause

1 years ago By Sports Desk

There is an interesting stipulation in the highly anticipated KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match. The event will go down on October 14 at the Misfits X DAZN: The Prime Card event. The pay-per-view event will take place at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.

After his last fight against Joe Fournier, KSI shared an intense face-off with Tommy Fury, who was fresh off a split-decision victory over Jake Paul. Soon after, both parties began the negotiation process for their fight.

Initially, the British YouTuber revealed that all parties had agreed to a 180-pound weight limit with no rehydration clause. However, Fury was unhappy and called for the fight to be contested at 185 pounds. Given that KSI fought Fournier at 177 pounds, making 185 pounds would be an uphill battle for him.

However, at their recent pre-fight press conference, it was revealed that the KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match would be a six-round affair at 183 pounds. There would also be no rehydration clause.

This means that both fighters would be allowed to rehydrate after their weigh-ins without an upper weight limit. Given that Tommy Fury is noticeably larger than KSI, many speculated that it would prove to be an advantage for the younger Fury sibling. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who emerges victorious on October 14.

Derek Chisora makes bold prediction for KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match

Derek Chisora recently shared his opinions on the highly anticipated KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match. The two-time WBC heavyweight title challenger believes that the popular British YouTuber will get his hand raised via knockout.

As mentioned, KSI and Fury will meet in the boxing ring on October 14 at the Misfits X DAZN: The Prime Card event in Manchester, England. Given the long-running rivalry between them, fans look forward to seeing them settle their differences in the squared circle.

Given Tommy Fury’s boxing pedigree, many believe ‘TNT’ will have the edge going into this bout. Paired with the fact that ‘TNT’ is training closely with his elder half-brother Tyson Fury, the consensus may be right. However, ‘Del Boy’ begs to differ.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Derek Chisora broke down the KSI vs. Tommy Fury fight and stated:

“It’s not like he’s in and out of the gym, no, no. He wants to win this fight. On top of that, JJ doesn’t have yes men around him… It’s going to be a good fight… This fight, I see a knockout, and I see the knockout coming for my friend JJ… He’s got more power in both hands than before.”
