UFC November 2023 Review, Ratings, Key Points, Analysis And Impression

1 years ago By Jhon Woug

In the electrifying world of mixed martial arts, UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. One shocking twist that Craig offered on November 18th, 2023, at the UFC Apex facility located within Enterprise, Nevada, was the array of enticing contests that it provided. The final bout of this great night was dominated by the matchup between former LFA middleweight champion Brendan Allen and Paul Craig, and this battle alone made an impact with not only the fans but also the experts.

Fight Card Highlights

Main Event Showdown:

The main event of the day involved an encounter between Allen and Craig, who were fighting in the middleweight category. It was an astonished fight where Allen managed to win through a rare rear-naked choke just after 38 seconds had gone into the second round. Allen’s grappling skills were seen by the UFC Apex audience with their hearts pounding in their chests.

Notable Replacements and Catchweight Dramas:

The evening had its unexpected fight card alterations, too. When Jesse Butler was hurt, Lucas Alexander took his place against Jeka Saragih in a featherweight fight. Nevertheless, he did not reach the limit and had to fight under a different regime, with Saragih scoring a KO within the first.

César Almeida withdrew to avoid a fight because of a medical reason, and this allowed Denis Tiuliulin to enter the fighting area (octagon) vs. Christian Leroy Duncan (middleweight). Myktybek Orolbai stood in for Jounny Parson at the very last minute to fight against Uros Medic. This made the night unpredictable in terms of these substitutions.

Results Roundup

Main Card Triumphs:

The main card had Michael Morales winning via unanimous decision against Jake Mathews in the welterweight division. The fight between Jordan Leavitt and lightweight contender Chase Hooper showed many impressive things, such as the first-round submission of Leavitt by a rear-naked choke.

Talybot of bantamweight stunned everyone by submitting his opponent, Nick Aguire, in round three. The only highlight-reel moment came from Amanda Ribas, who knocked out Luana Pinheiro with a spinning wheel kick and punches in the women’s strawweight division. The evening came to an end with a neck crank by Myktybek Orolbai during the second round of the welterweight fight against Uroš Medić.

Preliminary Surprises:

In the featherweight division, Joanderson Brito won a submission with a ninja choke in his second round against Jonathan Pearce in the preliminary card. The third round saw another great performance in a submission through a rear naked choke by Jose Johnson over Chad Anheliger in the bantamweight category. That was a win by the split decision as Mick Parkin defeated Caiomachado.

The first-round KO caught a catchweight bout at 148 pounds between Jeka Saragih and Lucas Alexander. With one eye on her opponent, Pudilova, Ailín Pérez won their unanimous decision. The premature stoppage caused the lightweight clash between Trey Ogden and Nikolas Motta to end in a no-contest.

In a catch-weight fight at 128 pounds between Rafael Estevam and Charles Johnson, there was a unanimous result for Estevam. It was the initial tech win awarded to Ogdon, which was overturned after the referee error.

Bonus Awards

These fighters who showed outstanding performances were offered $50,000 in bonuses. However, the “Fight of the Night” award eluded everyone, while “Performance of the Night” was awarded to Brendan Allen, Amanda Ribas, Joanderson Brito, and Jeka Saragih.

UFC Pound-for-Pound Rankings (Post UFC 295)

As the dust settled from UFC 295 in November, the pound-for-pound rankings witnessed notable shifts:

  • The tenth-ranked welterweight champion was Kamaru Usman until 2022.
  • The Czech light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka, dropped to ninth rank.
  • The eighth place was still held by Aljamain Sterling, the bantamweight titleholder.
  • The seventh position was occupied by Israel Adesanya, popularly referred to as the devil of strikes.
  • He is the third-best kick boxer in Brazil and currently stands 6th in the world ranking.
  • Although Charles Oliveira lost his most recent matchup while being the number-five ranked lightweight contender, he remained in 5th place.
  • The 4th position was grabbed by Leon Edwards, the welterweight champ with an affirmative title guard.
  • The year was tough for Alexader Volkanovski, and consequently, he has now placed third among featherweights.
  • Jon Jones, being a champion in the heavyweight class, came in at number two with minimal effort spent on training due to an injury.
  • The top ranking was stolen by Islam Makhachev, the lightweight champion who had a winning streak and fought against Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski.

UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Craig gave fans rollercoaster emotions last November, ranging from replacement surprises to thrilling matches’ expectations and amazing finishes. Likewise, the pound-for-pound ranking demonstrates that fighters are constantly fighting to be at the top of their divisions. This event was a testimony to the endurance spirit as well as the skill that these athletes evoke in spectators all over the world today.
