WWE Is Looking To Bring CM Punk At Survivor Series 2023

1 years ago By Jhon Woug

The crowd that the WWE had in the days of the attitude era, or the Golden Days, was the loudest to this date. These days, fake crowd noises via amplified speakers in state-of-the-art auditoriums across the USA do not give us a clear picture of who the fan favourite is actually. Just ask Damien Priest, Dirty Dom, or even, for that matter, The Tribal Chief( during his run as the big dog), who were all assisted by fake crowd noises to elevate their statuses during their initial runs. One Supeerstar who certainly needs no loudspeakers would be a returning C.M. Punk.

If reports are to be believed, C.M. Punk is on his way back to the WWE. As per reports in the locker room, the WWE is moving quickly on acquiring the Chicago native to a long-term deal. It’s been a decade since C.M. Punk was last seen in the WWE, and the crowd to this date has chanted his name like it’s an anthem. With the Survivor Series just around the corner, the hype surrounding this speculation will only add to the mystique of the occasion. Expect fans to hijack a mid-card match with the loud roars of the straight-edge superstar. The PPV will be built around this rumoured moment, should CM Punk finally get his wish, which may be a deal offered to Hulk Hogan or Kevin Nash in the WCW, where they could exercise their creative control clause.

CM Punk has very few avenues to go to, though. He is in a similar situation to where he was 10 years ago. In the past, with no relevant promotion in the competition and TNA long buried, CM Punk had no choice but to switch sports. With very little experience of the real fight game, Punk joined the UFC as he looked to make a statement upon his exit from WWE. Needless to say, he was thrown to the wolves, and his example alone is enough for the entire locker room of Superstars to learn from. Then came Elite. The wrestling community unanimously wished this opportunity had come 10 years ago, when CM Punk was red hot. At that time, no other promotion had the deep pockets that McMahon’s had. To compete with the WWE, a company that was listed and had endless backing from investors and savings that would last dynasties, seemed suicidal for most. Enter Tony Khan, a man who promised to change wrestling for good and did too. He gave CM Punk the level playing field that the former Money in the Bank winner so desperately needed.

Destiny had other plans, though. A backstage scuffle led to the premature release of CM Punk from AEW, and at the time of publishing this article, Punk remains a free agent. The thing with a Superstar of Punk’s magnitude is that one simply cannot let him around a list of already troubled Superstars. For some, the best talker on the microphone, and for good reason, Paul Heyman’s prodigy has made Stars lose control before. This has also, at times, labelled Punk as a taunt in front of his peers.

But the WWE is no stranger to his attitude or his potential. His ability to sell tickets has always made him a promoter’s darling. There is another reason that is so strong that this rumour is almost considered confirmed. This year’s Survivor Series PPV will take place in Chicago, Illinois.

A very popular hoarding during CM vs. John Cena read,” If Punk loses, We Riot”. A spectacle par excellence, Chicago is known to have a wild crowd whenever one of their own comes back home. The WWE will surely capitalise on this mishap made by arch rivals.
