3 Possible Records That Randy Orton Can Create At WWE Survivor Series 2023

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Randy Orton is officially back as he’s set to appear at WWE Survivor Series 2023 as the fifth member of Team Cody Rhodes against The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre. Fans are excited for The Apex Predator’s return and have high hopes that he will make history by breaking some major records at the event.

Earlier this year, Seth Rollins became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion and the face of Monday Night Raw. Multiple superstars have attempted to dethrone The Visionary, but Rollins has fought hard to establish the prestige of the title, on par with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Recently on Raw, it was revealed that Randy Orton will return at Survivor Series 2023 to join Team Cody Rhodes.

Orton has the opportunity to wrestle Rollins at the event and capture the World Heavyweight Championship. This would make him the first superstar to hold the original Big Gold Belt and the new lineage of the title established by Rollins. While stars have won the WWE and WCW versions of the classic World Heavyweight Title before, the current incarnation’s history is completely separate. Orton winning the gold from Rollins would cement his place as the first to hold two distinctly different World Heavyweight Championship variations. Fittingly, The Viper was also the final holder of the classic title when he unified it years ago.

Additionally, Randy Orton can further extend his impressive Survivor Series resume. Currently with 15 appearances, he can set the record for the active WWE superstar with the most matches in the event’s history. 16 would tie him with Kane and edge him closer to The Undertaker’s all-time mark of 18.

Orton also already holds the record for most career WWE pay-per-view matches with 181. In 2021, he surpassed the previous high of 177 held by The Undertaker. If Orton competes at Survivor Series, it will be his 182nd PPV bout, adding to his place in the Guinness Book of World Records. It’s a testament to his unmatched longevity and consistency over nearly two decades of WWE excellence.

Randy Orton’s return has thrilled the WWE Universe, not just for his presence but the history he could make at Survivor Series 2023. The possibilities of capturing the World Heavyweight Championship, moving up the event appearance ranks, and adding to his PPV match record are all within reach. Orton is no stranger to breaking records and etching his name deeper into the company annals.

After Establishing Himself as a Rising Star in Evolution Alongside Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair in the Early 2000s, Orton Has Compiled One of the Most Decorated Resumes in WWE History. His Career Accolades Read Like a Hall of Fame Checklist – 13 World Title Reigns, Two Royal Rumble Victories, the 2013 Money in the Bank Contract and a Grand Slam Champion Distinction.

However, Orton Has Truly Shined Brightest on WWE’s Grandest Stage, WrestleMania. He Has Competed at 16 of the Showcase of the Immortals, With a 9-7 Win/Loss Record and Several Memorable Moments. But None More Iconic Than Defeating Triple H to Become the Youngest World Heavyweight Champion in History at Just 24 Years Old at WrestleMania 21. It Signaled Orton’s Arrival as WWE’s Next Big Star.

While Orton’s WrestleMania Legacy is Already Cemented, He Has a Chance to Add to It and Set New Records at This Year’s Showcase from Hollywood. Two Major Milestones Are Within Reach.

First, Orton Can Tie Kane for the Most All-Time WrestleMania Appearances by a WWE Superstar with 17. Given Orton’s Limited Schedule over the Last Few Years, Each Additional ‘Mania Match Adds to His Overall Resume.

Second, and More Notable, Orton Can Break The Undertaker’s Storied Record for the Longest Span Between the First and Most Recent WrestleMania Matches. The Deadman Currently Sits at 29 Years, Having Competed from 1991 to 2020. If Orton Wrestles This Year, It Will Be 19 Years Since His Initial WrestleMania Match in 2004. Surpassing The Phenom Would Be a Remarkable Achievement for Orton’s Unparalleled Longevity.

At Just 43 Years Old and With Plenty Left in the Tank, Don’t Be Surprised if Randy Orton Adds to His Accolades and Sets New Standards for Career WrestleMania Achievements. The Viper Striking Again and Sinking His Fangs Into More Records Fits Perfectly with Orton’s MODUS OPERANDI.
